giddy!

I am so excited to share this little bit of news with you today. I've been so blessed to regularly contribute scrapbook pages and projects to Creating Keepsakes magazine for the past two years and now I get to write for them too?! Somebody pinch me, because I must be dreaming! You can check out the entire list of 2011 Contributing Writers and Dream Team Members over on the CK blog. I'm so excited to be part of such a talented group of ladies! Thank you CK!

Even though it has been on my "to do" list...for. like. ever. I haven't had a CK layout share in a while and thought today was the perfect time for one! So here are some of my pages that were published in the last few issues of Creating Keepsakes magazine.

As seen in the July/August 2010 issue of Creating Keepsakes magazine. Copyright Creative Crafts Group. Posted with prior permission from the publisher.

Ring of Fun was featured in CK Shows You How to Create Sandy Looks on Your Scrapbook Pages. You can get the steps and template to create your own sand castle on the CK website.

Grandville was featured in the CK Sketches column. For the fireworks accent, I hand-cut patterned papers into star burst shapes and layered them. I also machine stitched a trail coming from the star burst shapes. To curl the blue ribbon, I saturated the ribbon with fabric stiffener and wrapped it around a pencil and let it dry. You can use a hair dryer to speed the drying process along.

Beyond Scarves was featured in the Seasonal Solutions column on Lifelong Learning. I first learned to knit seven or eight years ago and it has been a learning process ever since! I love it though. This page features some of my knit creations. I even knit a sample block to include on my page. I love the texture that is adds! Plus, I got to do two of my favorite hobbies while creating this page...scrapbooking and knitting!

Math Geek? was featured in Mou Saha's article, Back to School in Style. I created a mini textbook with scrapbooking supplies, filled with blank pages for my daughter to journal her thoughts on math. Allan is helping her with her math homework in these photos. It's funny because she says she hates math and yet she gets A's in it! I don't blame her though...I've never loved math either.

Cleopatra was featured in CK Shows You How to Apply Metallic Leaf. I gave my title a metallic look by simply covering the chipboard letters with a gold leafing pen. Super easy and great results!

Halloween Carnival was featured in Lori Fairbanks, Pretty Spooky article. I used one of Fancy Pants' gorgeous flocked transparencies to cover chipboard swirls that I first covered with orange patterned paper. I used lots of pretty vintage style products on this page to achieve my "pretty spooky" look.

Thanks for stopping by today and be sure to pop over to the CK blog to check out the entire 2011 CK Team! Happy scrappin!
