Moya recently received a nice watercolor tablet and her very first watercolor pencils. She loves to paint and draw but wanted a bit of instruction on using her new pencils. And this artist-mom was more than happy to oblige!
I pulled out my own watercolor pencils, mini watercolor block, brushes, etc. and some flower reference photos and we took over the dining room table with our mother-daughter painting!
It felt so good to draw and paint. After such a busy December I've been feeling a bit burned-out, but putting paint brush to paper was so refreshing! It was just what I needed creatively! Previous to this, I think I finished my last watercolor painting 4 or 5 years ago! That is way too long. Moya and I will definitely be painting together some more!
Here's the little flower that I painted.

And Moya's final painting.

Great job Moya! Watercolor painting is my favorite. Your flower painting is beautiful as well Cindy! :~) Makes me want to pull out my watercolor stuff. It's been a long, long time!
Your daughter takes after her mother! Her painting is amazing! Hope she frames it!
Beautiful flowers! Thanks for the idea. I know my Jade would love it.

I'm approaching 30 years old, and I still love mother/daughter time. This time you're spending with Moya is going to be time she'll treasure for the rest of her life. She's lucky to have such a mama.
BTW, love the paintings!
Superb blog post, I have book marked this internet site so ideally I’ll see much more on this subject in the foreseeable future!
