You know those fun chains of paper rings that you used to make to count down until Christmas, your birthday, Halloween...pretty much any occasion that includes gifts and/or candy?
I found this chain in Moya's room this morning. Seeing that the chain wasn't long enough to count down to her birthday, and how it's not close to any major gift receiving holiday, I was a bit perplexed.
Do you want to know why she made this paper chain?
It's for...
Are you ready for this?
It's for SCHOOL!
Most children make these things to count down to holidays, but not my daughter...she makes them to count down to the first day of school.
Either she is sick of spending her days at home with her brother and me OR she just really loves school. I've decided not to ask which one it is. I'm going to just say that it's because she loves school. It makes me feel better. It's better for my mommy self-esteem. Yes indeed, my daughter absolutely LOVES school!
I'm really not too surprised by this, I loved school too. :) I just never made paper chains to count down to the first day.
Now be honest, how many of you mom's are going to secretly make one for yourself to count down to when your kids go back to school? I know I'll be watching my daughter's pretty closely! ;)
Happy back-to-school countdown everyone!

I admit it... I had one but now that they are back in school I MISS THEM!! Crazy, huh? Plus I am WAAAAAY too busy working now... but still... Landon in kindergarten?!?!? WAH!
I love the school countdown idea. As long as I've known about paper chain, I never knew they were used to countdown to anything. I thought they were an inexpensive way to keep kids busy stringing a chain of paper. LOL Now that I know there's more meaning it makes it a bit more fun!!! Cute idea Moya!!!
She is MY kind of girl!!
