Watercolor: Red Pepper

My daily painting for 2013 sure didn't last very long, but I've started up again since I finally completed my Project Life 2012 album! That's right, I finished. So, so, so happy about that! And I really did want to paint everyday, but I also had to finish that album. I found that I just didn't have the time, energy, or desire to work on the scrapbook and paint, so I decided to put painting aside to finish the album. Now that it's done, I'm painting again. Yay!

I'm going through this watercolor course book right now. I have a whole shelf of art "how-to" books that I plan to go through, I've been collecting them for a while. I have a soft spot for creative "how-to" books. I'm taking the lessons and using my own photographs and still life's to paint from though. I much prefer that, then it is really my artwork.

This lesson was all about wet into wet watercolor painting. It was fun, but I still couldn't help going back in once the paint was dry to add more controlled definition. Which is okay, because that's me, part of my style. I'm excited to see where these watercolor lessons will take me. Watercolor art has always been my favorite, but I never learned it in school. I'm glad to finally be exploring this amazing medium.
