Mother's Day Weekend

My Mom, Dad and brother came over Saturday afternoon. My Dad treated us to a yummy Italian lunch at Pietro's and then we went to Holland for the Tulip Festival. We all had way too much sugar and lots of fun! The tulips were gorgeous as always and the Klompen Dancers were fun to watch. We've never attended on the final day and watched the final dance. After a week of "klomping," the dancer's wooden shoes were pretty worn on the bottom. Many of them fell apart during the final dance so there were dancers performing without their shoes (ouch!)...and for those whose shoes made it through the dance, afterwards, many dancers threw them hard against the street and they shattered into pieces. It was fun to watch. Sunday my hubby did everything around the house...the cooking, taking care of the kids. It was nice. My daughter offered to do the dishes and laundry...well, she folded the laundry. That was sweet of her. Though now I'm thinking she's ready to start doing those chores more regularly! :) My brother bought me a bouquet of roses. What a sweet brother! All in all, I had a terrific weekend with my favorite people! How was your Mother's Day? I'd love to hear about it!

Sounds like a nice weekend. Love the photo collage! Looks like quality family time and fun. My Mother's Day was nice, too. My family gave me some nice cards, did some of my chores and my hubby cooked me steak, Yumm!A nice relaxing day. =) -Julia

Hi Cindy

I read your story about the clog dancers. I am from Holland, Europe and collect everything that has to do with wooden shoes. I did not know that the dancers break their wooden shoes after the event. Do you maybe have photos (for my collection) of dancers breaking their clogs?

Look forward to your answer!

Kind regards

Anne Mie

Sounds like you had a wonderful weekend! I haven't been to the tuplip festival for a long time. We'll have to try to hit it next year.
